We have an excellent school system, but as in many communities across the country, the pandemic magnified our challenges. With a renewed focus on our students and teachers, we can get back on track. As your school board member, I will advocate for:
Every student in WJCC schools deserves a path to success after graduation. I’ll work to create new programs and partnerships, especially for students who choose not to pursue a college degree.
From better pay and benefits to providing the resources they need to educate our children, I’ll prioritize the needs of our teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and staff.
I’ll protect the right of parents to be involved in their children's education so we can improve student outcomes and increase satisfaction with the school system.
I’ll implement regular surveys to gather feedback from students about their learning experiences, extracurricular activities, and school environment, and use this feedback to make informed improvements.
Students learn best in small classes. I’ll invest in teachers and facilities that allow us to maintain small class sizes that create a more personalized and effective learning environment for all students.
Our students deserve a nurturing and safe school environment. I’ll advocate for hiring school-based mental health professionals, providing paid mental health training to teachers, and district-wide free meal programs.
Every student possesses unique talents and abilities that deserve recognition and support. I’ll foster an environment that celebrates diversity and individual strengths through a growth mindset culture.
I firmly believe that a responsible School Board should be highly responsive to the needs of teachers, staff, students, and parents. I’ll commit to being transparent and accessible to as we work to make WJCC the best it can be.
